On 21 July 2019, the annual Unified Bowling Game under Special Olympics Selangor is held at Wangsa Bowl in IOI City Mall, Putrajaya where athletes with intellectual disabilities are joined by family members, Unified partners, sponsors and volunteers to compete and display the sporting spirit of the Special Olympics motto, which is "Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt."
This year, more than 280 bowlers representing their respective organizations, charities and sponsors, out of which, 105 are athletes with intellectual disabilities. The Unified Bowling Game celebrates the vision of a person, Eunice Kennedy Shriver (EKS) who saw the importance of sports in building confidence and discovering potential and also providing opportunities for greater inclusion and interaction with typical young people. This day is dedicated to her vision and named the Eunice Kennedy Shriver (EKS) Day.
Our guest of honour is YB Hannah Yeoh, Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development and she is giving away the prizes for the top 3 teams. This annual bowling event, the forth in the series organised by Special Olympics Selangor since 2016.
